Whip Salon
COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
UPDATES

Updated 8/15/21

Ridgefield, Westport & Newtown have instituted new mask mandates for all indoor businesses. For the time being please wear a mask whether you are vaccinated or not. All Whip Salon staff will also be wearing masks.

Updated 5/19/21

Based on Governor Ned Lamont’s new set of COVID-19 safety protocols effective May 19, 2021 Whip Salon is happy to now allow our vaccinated clients to be mask-free indoors if they choose. The CDC defines “fully vaccinated" as two weeks after receiving a second jab of a two-dose vaccine, or two weeks after receiving the single-dose J&J vaccine. Whip Salon staff will continue to wear masks for the time being. We’ve updated our COVID-19 pre-appointment questionnaire according to this latest guidance.

We’ve updated our COVID-19 pre-appointment questionnaire with the latest guidance from Connecticut’s Sector Rules for Reopen.

Updated 6/1/20

We’re back open for business! After being forced closed since 3/18/20 by the State of Connecticut due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re very happy to be able to reopen and see our amazing clients again!

We have worked hard to create a safe environment including becoming certified compliant with state guidelines for reopening. Please be patient with us as we get in the groove with the new rules in place.

Here's what you may expect:

  • Before your appointment you will need to complete a short questionnaire and hold harmless waiver. We’ll send you the link in advance as part of your appointment confirmation. You can view the form here. Unfortunately if you can’t answer NO to all of the following four questions you will have to reschedule your appointment:

    • Have you had a cough?

    • Have you had a fever?

    • Have you been around anyone exhibiting these symptoms within the past 14 days?

    • Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?

  • Please wait in your car when you arrive for your appointment. We will call you when your stylist is ready for you as waiting areas are prohibited.

  • Upon entry, you'll have your temperature checked with a touchless thermometer to make sure you don’t have a fever.

  • Your stylist will be wearing a mask throughout your appointment and we ask that you do as well. We can provide one for you if needed.

We are hoping that we'll be able to ease off these measures soon and we appreciate your patience. We are grateful for your ongoing loyalty and support.

With all of the recent news surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we wanted to take a moment to let you know how we’re keeping Whip Salon healthy and safe for our team and clients. Thankfully, although there is still much to learn about the Coronavirus, the CDC’s suggested protocols for addressing it are identical to those for reducing the spread of common cold and flu. Nonetheless we are intensifying our efforts around best practices for virus prevention. Here are the specific steps we’re taking at Whip Salon:

  • Any staff member who could potentially be sick with fever, cold or flu symptoms is staying home. If a staff member shows cold or flu symptoms at work, we are sending them home.

  • We are posting signs about hand washing etiquette and are reinforcing that message throughout the day with all staff.

  • In addition to our regular daily maintenance, we are starting and ending each day by wiping down all shared hard surfaces with disinfectant wipes from Zogics containing Alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride .28%. That active ingredient has been shown to be effective against coronaviruses in concentrations above 0.05%.

  • Throughout the day and between clients we are also disinfecting shared surfaces such as door knobs, salon chairs, bathroom fixtures, and any shared tools such as hairdryers or clippers. Shared grooming tools like combs, clips and brushes are disinfected with Barbicide which also contains active ingredients which kills coronavirus.

  • We are making alcohol based hand sanitizer available to staff and clients at the front desk

  • We are discouraging hugs and handshakes between stylists and clients for the time being

  • We are running our air purifiers 24x7. These units use activated charcoal filters which are effective at filtering airborne virus particles.

Here’s how you can help:

  • We request that any client who feels they are potentially sick with a cough, cold, temperature, or flu to please call 855-WHIP-SLN or text 855-WHIP-TXT to reschedule their appointment.

Safety is always our number one priority. These steps, along with your personal cautiousness, will help Whip Salon play our part in keeping our community safe and healthy. Please let us know if you have any questions, and thank you for your business!
